Belarus' self-sufficiency in meat, meat products exceeds 130%

The he country's self-sufficiency in meat and meat products is more than 130%, Ksenia Meleshko, head of the main department of foreign economic activity of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, told BelTA.

“The meat industry is a priority in Belarus. The level of self-sufficiency in meat and meat products exceeds 130%. In this regard, we can say that our country has enough resources for shipment of meat products both to the domestic and foreign markets,” Ksenia Meleshko said.

Meat product exports are growing every year and in 2023 this trend will continue. “We have gone up both in terms of volume and value. Sales of high value-added meat products have increased. These include sausage products and canned meats. Traditionally, the share of meat products in our food exports is about 20%, and its share in production - more than 30%,” the head of the main department of foreign economic activity of the Agriculture and Food Ministry said.
