Tanker with Venezuelan oil for Belarus to dock at Klaipedos Nafta terminal 29 August
VILNIUS, 27 August (BelTA) – A tanker with a pilot consignment of Venezuelan oil for Belarus will arrive in Lithuania in the night of August 29. If the sea is calm, then the tanker will dock at the Lithuanian oil terminal on Sunday at 8h00, informed Rokas Masiulis, director general of Klaipedos Nafta. “We are fully ready to receive the tanker with Venezuelan oil for Belarus,” said Rokas Masiulis. As it was informed earlier, Klaipedos Nafta signed a contract to supply a pilot consignment of Venezuelan oil with the Transhema company, which promotes products made by Belneftekhim companies to the markets of Lithuania and other European countries.

Orsha Machine Tool Plant Krasny Borets transformed into open joint stock company
VITEBSK, 27 August (BelTA) – Orsha Machine Tool Plant Krasny Borets has been transformed into an open joint stock company, BelTA learnt from Svetlana Lukashevich, deputy director of the Vitebsk territorial fund Vitebskoblimushchestvo. In accordance with the law on denationalization and privatization of state property in the Republic of Belarus, the Board of Vitebskoblimushchestvo took a decision to transform the republican unitary enterprise Orsha Machine Tool Plant of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor Krasny Borets into an open joint stock company Orsha Machine Tool Plant.

Participants of Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon say goodbye to Belarus and leave for Moscow
VITEBSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The Participants of the fifth Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon said goodbye to Belarus and left for Russia, BelTA learned from Andrei Tsvetkov, head of the sport and tourism department of the Liozno Regional Executive Committee. Liozno has become the last Belarusian settlement that welcomed the participants of the marathon. The fifth Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon is held by organization “Bicycle for Peace and New Energies” within the framework of the movement “For Peace and Cooperation between Nations”.

Belwest to open over 30 stores in Russia
MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – The Belwest company is set to open over 30 stores in Russia by the autumn/winter season, BelTA learnt from the Bellegprom concern. Some 20 stores will open in August; another ten stores will open in September. Today the company operates about 40 stores in the Russian Federation. This autumn the number of stores will make about 70. The Vitebsk-made shoes will be sold in Tolyatti, Kursk, Saratov, Ufa, Balakovo, Ulyanovsk, Syzran, Engels, Izhevsk, Berezniki, Perm, Orekhovo-Zuyevo and Samara.

In January-July Vitebsk Oblast revenues exceed Br2.3 trillion
VITEBSK, 17 August (BelTA) – In January-July this year the revenues of the Vitebsk Oblast consolidated budget amounted to more than Br2. trillion, or 104.8% to the plan, BelTA learnt from the press center of Vitebsk oblast inspectorate of the Tax and Duties Ministry. The national budget revenues amounted to more than Br1.2 trillion, or 102.6% to the plan. Revenues to the local budget made up Br1.

Archeologists discover unique findings in Polotsk District
VITEBSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Unique findings have been discovered by archeologists in Polotsk District, BelTA learnt from Marat Klimov, scientific worker of the NASB Institute of History. Archeological excavations are held on the left bank of the Western Dvina near the village of Luchno. A big estate of a magnate was located there in the 11th-16th centuries. The archeologists were unable to find out the name of the owner as the estate was completely destroyed during the wars between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Muscovy.

Vitebsk Oblast to construct seven ice palaces in 2011-2015
VITEBSK, 16 August (BelTA) – In 2011-2015 Vitebsk Oblast will construct seven ice palaces, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets told a closing ceremony of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee cup ice hockey tournament, BelTA has learnt. According to the Governor, the region attaches great attention to development of ice hockey. In 2011, an ice palace seating 3,500 people will open in Orsha.

Exhibition of participants of ART-EGO international plein air opens in Polotsk
VITEBSK, 12 August (BelTA) – An exhibition of participants of ART-EGO, the first international plein air, opened in Polotsk, Belarus’ cultural capital 2010, BelTA learnt from Larisa Lysenko, chief of the arts gallery of the National Polotsk History and Culture Museum-Reserve. The exhibition features 60 works. These are paintings, collages, art objects, sculptures that the artists from Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania created during the two-week plein air dedicated to Polotsk as a cultural center on the way “From the Vikings to the Greeks”.

Vitebsk Oblast composite fire-fighting teams on full alert
VITEBSK, 12 August (BelTA) – In Vitebsk Oblast composite fire-fighting teams have been put on alert to fight forest and peatland fires, BelTA learned from Marina Fando, press secretary of the Vitebsk Oblast Department of the Emergencies Ministry. There are composite fire-fighting teams in every district of the oblast. There are over 150 composite fire-fighting teams numbering a total of about 2,500 people.

Orsha, Liozno forest services keeping eye on Smolensk Oblast wildfires
VITEBSK, 6 August (BelTA) – The Orsha and Liozno forest services is monitoring the situation with the wildfires in the Smolensk Oblast, BelTA learnt from Aleksei Shaposhnikov, acting head of the department for forest protection, hunting and tourism of the Vitebsk Forestry. The Orsha forest service is tracking the situation with wildfires 10-13 kilometers off the border on the territory of the Krasnyansnky forestry, the Smolensk Oblast.
